The bridge between UBC students and the Canadian Red Cross

Supporting humanity, impartiality, independence, neutrality, voluntary service, unity and universality.

Our main objectives are to bring awareness to our campus of local and global issues, to raise money for selective international appeals, and to engage in community outreach and volunteering programs.

In the past few years, we've been able to raise thousands of dollars for our appeals, which have included the Sudan Crisis, the Southeast Asia Earthquake and Tsunami and the Africa Sahel Food Crisis. Speakers were invited to our numerous awareness workshops and panel discussions on international humanitarian law or the BC fentanyl crisis, to give firsthand accounts of their experiences around the world. In addition to our international focus, we are also involved with the local community, offering volunteer opportunities with the Lower Mainland Canadian Red Cross, Vancouver General Hospital, and the UBC Food Bank.

Panel Discussions

Many educational materials in local languages are often out of date. We work with school leaders and publishers to ensure that students have access to current textbooks that are age appropriate and written in their primary language.

Continuing Education for Teachers

We create bespoke continuing education programs to address the needs of teachers and their student communities. From training on the latest technology to new pedagogical methods, we help teachers make their classrooms engaging and successful.
